CUES Board Meeting January 29, 2026 1:30 PM USBE Admin Conference Room #127 Salt Lake City, UT Business Items: Action Welcome Next Meeting - TBD Approval of Minutes - 12/19/2025 Minutes - Link Adoption of Agenda - Action Financial Reports - Accounts Report FY 26' - January Financials Fraud Risk Assessment - Link Open Meeting Training - Link Regional Projects: Rural AI Strategy Lab. 'Participants will identify a need, problem, or opportunity and design, pilot, and refine an AI-enabled approach to address it. Over the course of the strategy lab, teams will receive coaching, access to AI and innovation expertise and resources, and learn alongside a national network of rural educators as they engage stakeholders, define measures of success, and build an understanding of their impact over time.' Brandon is willing to use his current instructional coach team, including Dax (N. Sanpete), Tammy (Sevier), and Steve (S. Sanpete), who are already meeting regularly. Any other districts want to send a representative? Could probably remote into meetings. Review RESA Report for PEA 2026 Legislative: USBE Proposed 5% cut to RESAs. $148,800.00 ongoing funding. HB 84. Guardian tracking. Bring up to speed. Time permitting, review the following three safety bills: HB42: School Cybersecurity Amendments, HB43: School Security Amendments, and HB44: School Security Personnel Standards.
