The Utah Board of Oil, Gas and Mining meets on Wednesday, January 28, at 9 a.m. at the Department of Natural Resources building at 1594 West North Temple in Salt Lake City. Docket No. 2025-049 Cause No. 132-81 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of SM Energy Company for an order pooling all interests including the compulsory pooling of the interests of certain non-consenting and unknown owners, within a 1,920-acre (or substantial equivalent) drilling unit established for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch (Colton) Formations, comprised of Sections 19, 30 and 31, Township 2 South, Range 1 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah. (This matter has been continued to the February 18, 2026, Hearing Examiner Proceeding and February 25, 2026, Board Hearing.) 2. Docket No. 2025-050 Cause No. 132-82 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of SM Energy Company for an order pooling all interests including the compulsory pooling of the interests of certain non-consenting and unknown owners, within a 1,280-acre (or substantial equivalent) drilling unit established for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch (Colton) Formations, comprised of Sections 30 and 31, Township 2 South, Range 1 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah. (This matter has been continued to the February 18, 2026, Hearing Examiner Proceeding and February 25, 2026, Board Hearing.) 3. Docket No. 2026-009 Cause No. 132-83 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of SM ENERGY COMPANY for an order pooling all interests including the compulsory pooling of the interests of certain non-consenting and unknown owners, within a 1,280-acre (or substantial equivalent) drilling unit established for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch (Colton) Formations, comprised of Sections 29 and 32, Township 2 South, Range 1 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah. (This matter has been continued to the February 18, 2026, Hearing Examiner Proceeding and February 25, 2026, Board Hearing.) 4. Docket No. 2026-001 Cause No. 130-45 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of WEM OPERATING, LLC for an order: (1) establishing certain 'lay-down' 1,920-acre overlapping drilling units; (2) establishing certain 'lay-down' 2,560-acre overlapping drilling units; (3) establishing certain 'lay-down' 3,840-acre overlapping section line drilling units; and (4) establishing certain 'lay-down' 5,120-acre overlapping section line drilling units as to long lateral horizontal well production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River and Green River-Wasatch Formations of: (a) Sections 29-32, T4S, R3W, U.S.M.; (b) Sections 5-8, 25-29 and 32-36, T4S, R4W, U.S.M.; and (c) Sections 1-2 and 11-12, T4S, R5W, U.S.M., all in Duchesne County, Utah. (This matter has been continued to the February 25, 2026 Board Hearing.) 5. Docket No. 2026-002 Cause No. 130-46 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of SM ENERGY COMPANY for an order: (1) amending the Board's orders in Cause Nos. 139-154, 139-163, and 139-165 to make uniform the development plan for the units already established on the lands at issue; and (2) establishing: (a) two overlapping 2560-acre DUBWDSUS; (b) three overlapping 1920-acre DSUS; (c) six overlapping 3840-acre DUBWDSUS; (d) one overlapping 4-mile 2560-acre DSU; and (e) two overlapping 4-mile 5120-acre DUBWDSUS each for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch (Colton) Formations in Sections 4-9, 16-21, and 28-33, Township 2 South, Range 1 West, U.S.M, in Duchesne County, Utah. 6. Docket No. 2026-003 Cause No. 475-14 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of anschutz exploration corporation for an order: (1) vacating the Board's orders entered in Cause Nos. 122-1, 475-09 and 475-12; and (2) suspending Utah Administrative Code Rules R649-3-2, R649-3-10 and R649-3-11(1) and (2) as to the Boss (Deep) Federal Unit comprised of portions of Townships 10 through 13 South, Ranges 22 through 25 East, S.L.M., Uintah County, Utah. 7. Docket No. 2026-004 Cause No. 475-15 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of anschutz exploration corporation for an order providing exemptions from certain requirements under the Board's orders entered in Cause Nos. 190-03 and 190-13 and Utah Administrative Code R649-3-31 as to lands within the Bonanza State Exploratory Unit, comprised of portions of Townships 9 and 10 South, Ranges 24 and 25 East, S.L.M., Uintah County, Utah. 8. Docket No. 2026-005 Cause No. 475-16 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of anschutz exploration corporation for an order: (1) partially suspending the Board's order entered in Cause No. 470-14; and (2) suspending Utah Administrative Code R649-3-2, R649-3-10 and R649-3-11(1) and (2) as to the Golf (Deep) Federal Unit, comprised of portions of Townships 11 through 13 South, Ranges 22 and 23 East, S.L.M., Uintah County, Utah. 9. Docket No. 2026-006 Cause No. 130-47 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of FOURPOINT RESOURCES, LLC for an order establishing: (1) overlapping lay-down (horizontal) 1,920-acre (or substantial equivalent) drilling units for extra-long lateral horizontal wells for the production of oil, gas and hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch Formations comprised of Sections 25 through 27, and 34 through 36, respectively; and (2) an overlapping 3,840-acre (or substantial equivalent) drilling unit boundary well drilling unit for extra-long lateral horizontal wells for similar production along the common boundary of said 1,920-acre drilling units, all in Township 3 South, Range 3 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah, with certain caveats relating to existing wells thereon. 10. Docket No. 2026-007 Cause No. 470-24 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of UINTA WAX OPERATING, LLC for an order establishing an overlapping three-sectional stand-up (vertical) drilling unit for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch Formations through extra-long lateral horizontal wells comprised of Sections 21, 28 and 33, Township 3 South, Range 1 East, U.S.M., Uintah County, Utah. 11. Docket No. 2026-008 Cause No. 600-11 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of UINTA GAS, LLC for an order establishing separate special diagonal drilling units and overlapping drilling unit boundary well drilling units for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from portions of the Mesaverde, Blackhawk and Mancos Formations from long lateral horizontal wells comprised of portions of Sections 2 through 4, 9 through 11, 15 through 17, and 20 through 22, Township 9 South, Range 17 East, S.L.M, Duchesne and Uintah Counties, Utah.
