- Notice of Expiring Term - Central Region Trustee 2026 Utah Transit Authority Board of Trustees Central Region Trustee In accordance with the Board Vacancy and Conflicts Act (Utah Code §63G-24-201), the Utah Transit Authority is providing notice of an expiring term of the Central Region Trustee position currently held by Carlton Christensen. The term is scheduled to expire November 1, 2026. Trustees may serve an unlimited number of terms. Nominations for this position are governed by the Public Transit District Act (Utah Code §17B-2a-802.7) and require certain stakeholder entities to submit nominees to the Governor. Nominations are due to the Governor by June 1, 2026 for consideration. Those nominations include: - Two nominees from the Salt Lake County Council of Governments - Three nominees from the Salt Lake County Mayor with approval of the Salt Lake County Council The Governor is required to make an appointment within 60-days of receiving nominations and, after 30-days of public comment, submit the appointment to the Utah Senate for advice and consent. Public comment to the Governor will be received through the Utah Boards and Commissions website after the appointment is announced.
