Notice is hereby given that, pursuant to the Utah Code 20A-1-510 and its provisions, a vacancy in the City of Wendover exists for a mid-term vacancy for a city council seat. The Wendover City Council is soliciting a qualified person for each Position (at least 18 years of age a citizen of the United States a registered voter, who has resided within the City of Wendover Utah for 12 consecutive months 20A-2-101. Eligibility for registration.) (In accordance with Utah Constitution, Article IV, Section 6, a mentally incompetent individual, an individual convicted of a felony, or an individual convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to hold elective office is restored under Section 20A-2-101.3 or 20A-2-101.5.) Those interested in being elected candidates to fill this vacancy submit their name and declaration of Candidacy. The decision of who will fill the midterm vacancy will be made by the City Council. Applications will be taken from Thursday, January 8th, 2026, through February 4th, 2026, from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. No application will be accepted any earlier than January 8th, 2026, and no application will be taken any later than 5:00 p.m. on February 4th, 2026 (20A-4-602 (3)(a). An interested person should submit their name and complete the required Declaration of Candidacy to the City Clerk, Liliana Soriano, at 920 East Wendover Blvd. P.O. Box 430, Wendover, Utah 84083.
