Orangeville City Council Public Hearing Minutes December 11, 2025 6:00 P.M. Present at said meeting were: Mayor- Shaun Bell, Council Members- Tracy Addley, Kari Alton, Kirk McQuivey, Doug Stilson, City Recorder- Amanda Lake, Treasurer- Dani Tuttle, Visitors: No visitors PUBLIC HEARING 1. Introduction by Mayor Bell 2. Open Public Hearing Meeting: Motion: Kirk McQuivey Second: Kari Alton Motion passed with 3 affirmative votes. 3. Accept Public Comments- No Comments 4. Discuss CDBG Grant Projects: The purpose of the hearing is to entertain ideas from citizens regarding the use of the Community Development Block Grant. Some of the ideas that were discussed for this grant were: Park Renovation (Phased Project): The primary proposal discussed was a complete renovation of the city park, potentially executed in phases. Specific improvements discussed included renovating the playgrounds by removing old equipment and wood chips and installing rubber sponge flooring to create an 'all-abilities,' all-inclusive playground. Remodeling the public restrooms. Remodeling the Baseball Field by remodeling dugouts, replacing dirt, and repairing fencing that is currently dented and bent. A bike track seen in another city was mentioned as a potential idea. Amanda Lake mentioned that CDBG funds can be utilized as 'match money' for State grants, which would significantly increase available funding. 5. Close Public Hearing and Motion to move int the second Public Hearing: Motion: Doug Stilson Second: Kirk McQuivey Motion passed with 4 affirmative votes.
