Public Notice of Vacant Roy City Council Seat This is formal notice that the Roy City Council intends to fill a Council vacancy caused by Councilmember Ann Jackson being elected as Mayor in the 2025 General Municipal Election. Pursuant to Utah Code 20A-1-510, this notice is posted until January 20, 2026. Any person interested in serving as a City Council Member and meeting the eligibility criteria as outlined in the Utah Code 20A-9-203 is hereby invited to submit their name for consideration, in person, with the Roy City Recorder between regular business hours beginning on Thursday January 8, 2026, and ending on Thursday January 22, 2026. Letters of Interest, Cover Letters, and Resumes are welcome but will remain optional. The newly appointed Council Member will serve through the vacated term ending December 31, 2027. All eligible candidates will participate in an interview in a public meeting with the current City Council Members and Mayor; interviews will be held on Tuesday February 3, 2026, starting at 8:00 a.m. in the downstairs basement conference room at the Roy City Municipal Building, 5051 S 1900 W, Roy Utah; with a Roy City Council Meeting held at 5:30 p.m. in the Roy City Council Chambers at the Roy City Municipal Building, 5051 S 1900 W, Roy Utah on Tuesday February 3, 2026, to cast votes and appoint the selected Council Member.
