NOTICE OF VACANCY OF FILLMORE CITY COUNCIL NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a vacancy exists on the Fillmore City Council. The vacancy occurred because no individual sought election to Fillmore City Council during the last general election. The public is further notified of the process by which the Fillmore City Council will act to appoint an individual to fill the term of office. The Fillmore City Council will fill the vacancy by interim appointment pursuant to Utah law. The individual appointed will serve until the next municipal general election (interim term ending January 3, 2028), at which time the office will be placed on the ballot for election to a two-year term to complete the remainder of the four-year term. Any individual interested in seeking appointment shall be a registered voter within Fillmore City according to Utah Code Ann. § 20A-1-510 and meet the qualifications for office described in Utah Code Ann. § 10-3-301. Any individuals interested in seeking appointment shall submit their names to the Fillmore City Recorder for consideration not later than three business days before the day on which the Fillmore City Council meets to fill the vacancy. The Fillmore City Council will interview each individual whose name is submitted for consideration, and who meets the qualifications for office, regarding the individual's qualifications. The Fillmore City Council will fill the vacancy by vote during the Fillmore City Council meeting scheduled for January 27, 2026 at 6:30 PM at the Fillmore City Council Chambers located at 75 West Center Street, Fillmore, Utah 84631 under Utah Code Ann. § 20A-1-510.
