NOTICE OF MIDTERM VACANCY FOR COTTONWOOD HEIGHTS PARKS AND RECREATION SERVICE AREA BOARD OF TRUSTEES DISTRICT #3
PUBLIC NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a Midterm Board of Trustee District #3 vacancy. Any person interested in serving as a Board of Trustee for District #3 and who meets the following eligibility and residency requirements is hereby invited to submit a letter of interest and conflict of interest disclosure. The chosen applicant will serve through the vacated term of Daniel Morzelewski ending December 31, 2027.
Eligibility and Residency Requirements: Candidates must:
1. Be a registered voter in Cottonwood Heights Parks and Recreation Service Area, District #3;
2. Have resided within the Service Area (District #3) for the past 30 days;
3. Commit to maintain a principle/primary residence within the Service Area (District #3) during this term of office;
4. A citizen of the United States;
5. Not be declared mentally incompetent;
6. Not be convicted of a felony.
Letters of interest and conflict of interest disclosure form can be submitted to Lyse' Durrant, Assistant Director, 385-533-9502, lysed@chparksandrecut.gov. Conflict of interest forms can be found on our website at www.chparksandrecut.gov
Application Deadline: Letters of interest and conflict of interest forms must be submitted no later than Tuesday, January 20 @ 1:00 pm.
It is anticipated that the Board of Trustees will hold a special public meeting on Wednesday, January 21, 2026 beginning at 3:00 pm, to interview eligible candidates. Candidates will be contacted to set up an interview time. It is also anticipated that the Board of Trustees will make their appointment at their regular meeting held on Wednesday, January 28, 2026, @ 4:00 pm. These meetings will take place at the Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center, 7500 S. 2700 E., Cottonwood Heights. Any additional meetings or notices will be published according to state code requirements
