NOTICE OF CITY COUNCIL VACANCY AND APPLICATION PROCESS FOR INTERESTED INDIVIDUALS Please be advised that a vacancy exists on the St. George City Council. The St. George City Council will act to fill this vacancy at a meeting to be held on Thursday, January 22, 2026 at 4:00 p.m., in the City Council Chambers located in the St. George City Hall, 61 South Main Street, St. George, Utah. Anyone interested in being appointed to fill this vacancy shall submit an application to Christina Fernandez, the City Recorder, at the same address along with the following: The deadline for submission is Friday, January 9, 2026 at 5:00 p.m. - Resume - One (1) page written statement covering 2 points: 1. A decision you feel the City Council got right; and 2. A decision you feel the City Council got wrong. - One (1) page written statement explaining: 1. Why you are interested in serving on the City Council; and 2. Any prior involvement in City or community organizations or activities. - Conflict of interest statement - Pay a $50 filing fee Qualifications to be considered to serve on the City Council of St. George are as follows: - Be a citizen of the United States - Be a registered voter in the City of St. George - Must be a resident of St. George or a resident of a recently annexed area of St. George for the previous twelve (12) months - Not convicted of a felony, treason, crime, or offense related to elections* - Not have been declared mentally incompetent *Utah Code §20A-2-101.5 states: A person convicted of a felony loses the right to hold office until (1) all felony convictions have been expunged, OR (2) ten years have passed since the most recent felony conviction AND the person has paid all court-ordered restitution and fines AND the person has completed probation, been granted parole, or completed the term of incarceration associated with the felony. /s/Christina Fernandez January 5, 2026 __________________________________ _________________________ Christina Fernandez, City Recorder Date
