Description/Agenda

The U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and U.S. Bureau of Land Management plan to develop a Draft Environmental Assessment for the Washington County Central Reuse System, serving communities in southwest Utah. The Project would deliver secondary irrigation water supplies and augment potable water supplies by conveying non-potable reuse to municipal and agricultural users in exchange for current outdoor irrigation sources. The project will ultimately contribute to Washington County's overarching Regional Reuse Purification System. Prior to preparing the Draft Environmental Assessment, Reclamation is conducting a public scoping period that begins December 23, 2025, and ends January 23, 2026. Reclamation is seeking input from agencies, Tribes, the public, and other interested parties. Scoping comments may be submitted in person during a public scoping meeting on Tuesday, January 6th, 2026, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Legacy Park (Grafton Building, 5500 West 700 South, Hurricane, UT), via email at comments@baxterenvllc.com, or via standard mail (mailing address on project website).
