PUBLIC NOTICE
VERNAL CITY ORDINANCE NO 2025-28 ADOPTED
Notice is hereby given that Ordinance No. 2025-28, an ordinance amending the Vernal
City Municipal Planning and Zoning Code 16.58.090 Minor Subdivision Regulations was
passed and adopted October 15, 2025 in a regular City Council Meeting.
The ordinance updates and clarifies minor subdivision standards to improve consistency with
Utah State Code, streamline the subdivision process, and clarify plat preparation and recording
requirements. Key changes include removing outdated legal description requirements, requiring
title transfers to reference the recorded plat, and assigning responsibility for recording approved
plats to the City Zoning Administrator within a specified timeframe. These amendments are
intended to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency in the review and approval of minor
subdivisions within Vernal City.
The ordinance takes effect immediately upon adoption and posting, as provided by law. A copy
of the ordinance is on file and available for public inspection at the Vernal City Recorder's Office
during regular business hours.
