The meeting was called to order at 4:07 PM. by Mr. Riddle, Board Chair.
First Item of Business - Approval of Minutes
Minutes from the November 20, 2025 meeting was presented. No additions or changes were noted. Mr. Fallon made a motion to approve, Ms. Symchych seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Second Item of Business - Approval of Budget, FY2026-2027, Resolution #111-25
Resolution No. 111-25, approving the draft budget for the fiscal year April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027, was presented. Mrs. Hansen reported that notice of the public comment period and budget hearing was posted on November 1, 2025, in the office foyer, on the Public Notices website, and on the Housing Authority website. No public comments were received.
No questions were raised, and a motion to approve the budget was made by Ms. Symchych, Mr. Fallon seconded the motion. The motion passed.
Third Item of Business - Board Meeting Schedule for 2026
The proposed 2026 board meeting schedule was presented, with meetings to be held on the third Thursday of each month at 4:00 p.m. at the Housing Authority office. No changes were requested.
Fourth Item of Business - Board Member Update
Mrs. Hansen reported that Mike Kourianos was appointed to the board at the Carbon County Commission meeting on December 3, 2025. Dixie Marvidikis was appointed to an additional term at the Commission meeting on December 17, 2025. Both terms will begin January 1, 2026.
Mrs. Hansen noted that one board position remains vacant and that interested individuals may contact her at the Housing Authority office or Geni Hawk at the County Commission office.
Fifth Item of Business - Other Business
Mrs. Hansen reported that the October 2025 financial statements were received late from the accounting firm due to a fiscal year-end close project. She stated that both October and November financials will be available for review at the January meeting.
Mr. Riddle and Mrs. Hansen then went on to thank Ms. Symchych for her service and guidance while serving on the Housing Authority board, as this will be her last meeting and she will be missed!
Mrs. Hansen then reported that a new employee, Linda Tice, will be starting on Monday, December 22nd and will fill the financial role at the Housing Authority. Her previous experience with public funds is expected to be an asset to our agency.
No other questions were raised. A motion to adjourn was made by Ms. Symchych, the motion was seconded by Mr. Fallon. The meeting adjourned at 4:15 PM.
