Board Members Present: Robert Kraft, Patricia Jones, Jim Lewis, Robert Hollahan, Patrick Trim, Ken Minor
Absent and Excused: Mike McCurdy, Bill Winfield Staff in Attendance: Shadie Blake.
Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order by Lewis at 7:01 P.M.
Citizens to Be Heard:
No public comments were received.
Approval of Meeting Minutes:
The minutes of October 19, 2025, meeting were reviewed by the Board. Jim Lewis entertained a motion to approve the minutes as presented. Robert Hollahan moved to approve, and Roberty Kraft seconded. The motion carried unanimously. - Change the August to October.

Canyonlands PRCA Rodeo Meeting, Grand County Fair Board meeting, Open Ride (Indoor & Outdoor Arena 'Multiple dates), D's Adventures, Skate Moab, Youth Softball, Youth Soccer, Grenadier Oktoberfest, Rigging for Rescue, Red Canyon Powwow (Cancelled), Moab 4x4 Academy, KC Groves Barrel Racing Clinic, Jeep Jamboree, Softball Tournament, Barrels 4 Bucks Barrel Race, Trunk or Treat.
November Events

Projects / Maintenance
- Daily Facility Maintenance - Maintain with current staffing
- Trenching and Laying Conduit for Lighting on Pickleball Courts (Inside Courts Only)
- Tree Trimming
- Winterizing Facility
- Adding Dirt to the barns
- Motion lights were added to the North arena stair area and East side of the upper sheds
- Vault toilets have been pumped by Zunich Brother and Cleaned & Locked for winter
Playground / Pickleball Courts
Construction has begun, concrete was delivered for the light pole bases.
Discussion Items
- Archery Range: Progress is temporarily paused pending additional dirt work. - No Updates
- County Fair: Angie, Greg, Mackensie and Nic will be attending the AFE from Nov 29-December 4.
- Float will be in the Light Parade: Introduce Walk 250 that starts January 2026.
- 2027 for the UFE Convention -Utah Fair association and events has chosen Grand County for their destination in 2027. Reach out to MTAB & Moab Chamber of Commerce for Support.
- 2026 Budgets: The OSTA 2026 budget has been presented to the Advisory Budget Board. The Grand County Fair budget has been presented to the MTAB. No Updates on presentation
- The league of Agricultural Equine Centers: Angie and Greg Applied and were accepted for the 2026 advanced footing the academy is held in Nashville Tennessee. The league only had 6 spots and 2 applications from Grand County were accepted this year (Angie & Greg)

Colorado Outbound - Casey Montandon Presenting for the 2026 Grant:
It is non-profit organization to change lives outdoors. Working with the multi-cultural center.
- 2 Courses last year, one day Rafting and One day Climbing
- We want to expand and help these families to get outdoors.
- 99% of participants are from out of states, we would like to get more participants in state. Open enrollment has traditionally been individuals but trying to expand into more groups.
- Goal - to give every kid a chance to get outdoors, we are trying to teach how to be able to lead and make decisions. A Goal to have 100+ people, Casey is raising the funds to help make this as affordable as possible. They pay staff as needed.
USU Moab - Cory Farnsworth Presenting for the 2026 Grant:
Focus the grant on more locals, college students and single mothers and 4-H kids.
- How can we create something more than just homework.
- Putting in a portable disk basket, and cornhole and pickleball (movable), spike ball.
- Making the campus environment an out for something physical to do.
- Some of these activities will be set up all the time and some can be checked out. Pickle balls can be set up out in the parking lot but the rest are at the back patio.
- This is open to anyone who wants to use it, USU extension is more about community.
Grant Application Reports:
- Fast Pitch Elite - Report Received
- Moab Golf - Report has not yet been received.
- Reviewing Grant 2026 Applications - Decision will be final in December meeting
2026 Preliminary Budget Discussion:
Reviewing the 2026 Budget for the December 10th meeting. Reviewing the prelim budget Robert Hollahan presented at the County Grant Meeting. We received General Fund support last year.
Financial Report
Shellie presented the October 2025 financial statements. The Board reviewed the report, and all financials appear in good standing.
Approval of October 2025 Payables:
Lewis entertained a motion to approve the October 2025 payables in the amount of $13,903.50.

Board Member Reports & Concerns:
RFP Redesign Ball Fields - Move to maybe moving our youth programs out to the arena because of maybe the 12-month interruption of services.
