Description/Agenda
Vernal City intends to request assistance from the Department of Defense's Innovative Readiness Training Program (IRT) for a local community improvement project.
The proposed assistance involves the preparation of the road base for the new road to be constructed at 300 East 600 South for the American Dream Subdivision, as well as the base for curb, gutter, and sidewalk installation. Work will include the placement of all material and removal of subgrade using the IRT to meet Vernal City specifications, ensuring proper compaction and grading for roadway and pedestrian infrastructure.
The project site is owned by Vernal City, and work is anticipated to take place between mid-February and late March.
This collaboration provides hands-on training opportunities for the Utah Army National Guard Engineer Unit, while offering direct benefit to the community through site improvement and hazard removal. Vernal City does not provide payment or compensation to the Utah Army National Guard for participation in this training event.
Local construction contractors, labor unions, or private individuals who have questions or who wish to voice opposition to the use of military assistance for this project may contact Mr. Eric Dilworth at Vernal City by email at edilworth@vernal.gov no later than thirty (30) days after the first publication of this notice.
Persons who do not submit comments within the stated time period will be considered to have waived any objections to military assistance for this project.
