- NOTICE OF VACANCY ON THE CITY OF SARATOGA SPRINGS CITY COUNCIL NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN, in accordance with Utah Code §20A-1-510, that the City of Saratoga Springs, Utah, is seeking to fill a vacancy on the City Council for an interim term from January 2026 to January 2028 and will be accepting applications as provided herein. Utah Code Ann. §10-3-301 Utah Code Ann. §20A-9-203 Candidates must meet the following qualifications: 1. Registered voter in the municipality in which the individual is elected*; 2. Must have resided in the municipality for which the candidate is seeking office for the 12 consecutive months immediately before the date of the election; 3. Maintain a principal place of residence within the municipality during the officer's term of office; 4. Not be a convicted felon, unless their right to hold elective office has been restored; and 5. Cannot have been declared mentally incompetent. In order to apply, interested persons should submit a completed application and Conflict of Interest Disclosure form, which may be obtained from the City website at www.saratogasprings-ut.gov/elections or from the City Recorder 801-766-9793 ext. 192, email nfike@saratogasprings-ut.gov or at the City offices, addresses listed below. These documents will be accepted until December 19, 2025 at 5:00 p.m. and must be submitted to: Nicolette Fike, City Recorder 1307 N. Commerce Drive, Suite 100 Saratoga Springs, UT 84045 In addition, State Law requires you submit a Campaign Finance Statement UCA § 10-3-208, no later than 5:00 p.m. January 2, 2026. Please be aware, your Conflict-of-Interest statement and Campaign Finance Statement will be posted on the City Website until at least 10 days after the day on which the legislative body appoints an individual to fill the vacancy. The City Council will meet to interview and vote for an individual to fill the vacancy on January 7, 2026, at a special meeting beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers, 319 S. Saratoga Road. Applicants must be available to attend that meeting. Once selected, the successful candidate will be administered the oath of office.
