Notice of Vacancy- Kane County Tourism Advisory Board
Notice is hereby given that the Kane County Commission is accepting applications for four (4) vacant positions on the Kane County Tax Tourism Advisory Board ('Board'). The terms for these positions will expire 12/31/2027. Each subsequent term will be two years in length.
Two (2) of the Board positions must be employed by an entity located in Kane County that is subject to the Transient Room Tax or Restaurant Tax.
One (1) of the Board positions must be an employee of recreational facilities, convention facilities, museums, cultural attractions, or other tourism related industries located within Kane County.
One (1) of the Board positions must be a resident of Orderville, Alton, Glendale, Mt. Carmel, Duck Creek, Cedar Mountain, or Bullfrog AND must be employed by an entity subject to Transient Room Tax (TRT) or Tourism Recreation Culture and Convention (TRCC or Restaurant Tax).
The Board is an advisory board with the primary purpose of advising the Commission on the best use of TRT and TRCC revenues. Additionally, the Board provides recommendations to the Director of the Kane County Office of Tourism regarding the promotion of tourism in Kane County. The Board meets five times per year for about two hours each meeting.

Any individual who has not previously served on the Board will need to be interviewed by a Commissioner prior to being appointed. The County Commissioner assigned as a liaison to the Board will make a recommendation to the full commission during a Kane County Commission meeting.
