NOTICE OF ELECTION
2026 REGULAR GENERAL ELECTION
In accordance with Utah Code Annotated ยง 20A-5-101, the regular general election on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 will fill the following list of offices for Summit County.
1.FEDERAL
a.U.S. House of Representatives-Third District. One Representative for a two (2) year term in the Third U.S. Congressional District.
2.STATE
a.State Senate-District 20. One member for a four (4) year term.
b.State House of Representatives-Districts 4, 23, 59, 68. One member for a two (2) year term for each district.
c.State Board of Education-District 1. One member for a four (4) year term.
3.JUDICIAL
a.Supreme Court. Two (2) Supreme Court Judges, provided the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period, will stand for a retention election.
b.Court of Appeals. Six (6) Court of Appeals Judges, provided the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period, will stand for a retention election.
c.District Court. Four (4) District Court Judges in the Third Judicial District, provided the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period, will stand for a retention election.
d.Juvenile Court. Four (4) Juvenile Court Judges in the Third Judicial District, provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period, will stand for a retention election.
4.COUNTY
The following County offices will be elected for four (4) year terms:

5.LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD
The following Local School Board seats will be elected for four (4) year terms:

v.South Summit School Board seat #4
vi.South Summit School Board seat #5
The Declaration of Candidacy filing period for qualified political party (QPP) candidates begins on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 8 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026.
The Declaration of Candidacy filing period for local board of education candidates begins on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 8 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026.
The Declaration of Candidacy filing period for registered political party (RPP) candidates begins on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 8 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 27, 2026.
The Declaration of Candidacy filing period for justices and judges of a court of record begins Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 8 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 15, 2026.
The Declaration of lntent to Gather Signatures period for qualified political party candidates begins on Friday, January 2, 2026, at 8 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026.
Qualified political party candidates must submit nomination petition signatures no later than 14 days before the day on which the qualified political party holds its convention to select candidates for the elective office.
Registered political party candidates must submit nomination petition signatures no later than 5:00 pm, Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
The Declaration of Candidacy filing period for candidates not affiliated with a political party begins on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 8:00 am, and ends at 5:00 pm, Monday, June 15, 2026.
Candidates not affiliated with a political party must submit certificates of nomination no later than 5:00 pm, Monday, June 15, 2026.
