6) Consideration of the 2026 Tentative Budget with Tax Increase for the Mosquito Abatement District-Davis
a) Public Budget Hearing (Public Comment Maximum 3 Minutes Each)
b) Action - Motion to Open Public Budget Hearing
c) If the proposed budget is approved, Mosquito Abatement District-Davis would receive an additional $1,000,000 in property tax revenue per year as a result of the tax increase. If the proposed budget is approved, Mosquito Abatement District-Davis would increase its property tax budgeted revenue by 25.80% above last year's property tax budgeted revenue excluding eligible new growth
d) The primary purpose for the proposed tax increase is construction of new pesticide storage facilities. Also building for future growth with new lab facilities to increase mosquito surveillance and lab capacity. To remodel current office/locker room space to accommodate the increase in female seasonal employees and other season workers. Any other revenues above financial obligations for building construction loan will be used to increase the purchase of a new mosquito adulticide product.
