PUBLIC NOTICE I hereby inform the citizens of Kane County that candidates for the following offices will be elected at the upcoming General Election to be held on Tuesday, November 03, 2026. The Declaration of Candidacy filing period for qualified political party candidates begins on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. Thursday, January 08, 2026 at the Kane County Clerk's Office, 76 North Main, Kanab , Utah. The Declaration of Candidacy filing period for local board of education candidates begins on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m. January 08, 2026. at the Kane County Clerk's Office, 76 North Main, Kanab, Utah . The Declaration of Candidacy filing period for registered political party candidates begins on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 8 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 27,2026 at the Kane County Clerk's Office, 76 North Main, Kanab, Utah. The Declaration of Candidacy filing period for Justices and Judges of Court of record begins Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., Wednesday , July 15. 2026 at the Kane County Clerk's Office, 76 N Main, Kanab UT. The Declaration of Intent to Gather Signatures period for qualified political party candidates begins Friday, January 2, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 08, 2026. at the Kane County Clerk's Office, 76 North Main, Kanab, Utah . Qualified political party candidates must submit nomination petition signatures no later than 14 calendar days before the day on which the qualified political party holds its convention to select candidates for the elective office. Registered political party candidates must submit nomination petition signatures no later than 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 31, 2026. The Declaration of Candidacy filing period for candidates not affiliated with a Political party begins on Friday, January 2, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., Monday June 15, 2026 and candidates not affiliated with a political party must submit certificates of nomination no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday 15, 2026. 1. FEDERAL : U.S . House of Representatives One Representative for a two (2) year term in each of the following U.S Congressional Districts: THIRD DISTRICT : The Third District consists of Beaver, Carbon, Daggett, Duchesne , Emery , Garfield, Grand, Iron, Kane, Morgan , Piute, San Juan, Summit, Uintah , Wasatch , Washington , and Wayne Counties as well as portions of Utah and Weber Counties. 2 . STATE: STATE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES: One member of the Utah House of Representatives for a two (2) year term from each of the seventy-five (75) State house districts: Districts Sixty-nine (69) Consists of Garfield, Grand, Kane, San Juan, and Wayne Counties as well as a portion of Emery County. 3. LOCAL SCHOOL BOARD: One member for a four (4) year term from each of the following Kane County School Districts: KANE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT FOUR (4) consisting of County Precincts 13BW, 13CW:C, 13KA1:A, 13KA1:B and 13KA1:C KANE COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT FIVE (5) consisting of County Precincts 13AL:A, 13AL:B, 13AL:C, 13CM, 13GL:A, 13GL:B, 13OR:A and 13OR:B 4. JUDICIAL: SUPREME COURT: There will be a retention election for TWO (2) Supreme Court Justice, provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period. COURT OF APPEALS: There will be a retention election for SIX (6) Court of Appeals Judges, provided that the incumbent whose term is expiring files during the filing period. DISTRICT COURT: There will be a retention election for sixteen (16) District Court Judges in the following districts, provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period: SIXTH DISTRICT: One (1) Judge in the Sixth Judicial District, which consists of Garfield, Kane, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, and Wayne Counties JUVENILE COURT. There will be a retention election for eleven (11) Juvenile Court Judges in the following districts, provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period: SIXTH DISTRICT: One (1) Judge in the Sixth Judicial District, which consists of Garfield, Kane, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, and Wayne Counties JUSTICE COURT. Any Justice Court Judge whose term is expiring shall be subject to an unopposed retention election in the county or counties in which the court to which the judge is appointed is located. 5. KANE COUNTY: One member, for a four (4) year term, from each of the following: ATTORNEY CLERK/ AUDITOR COMMISSION SEAT A COMMISSION SEAT B SHERIFF 2026 Filing Fees: a. U.S. House of Representatives $485.00 b. Utah House of Representatives $83.86 C. Court of Record Judge or Justice $50.00 d. County Attorney $820 .90 e. County Clerk/Auditor $445 .39 f. County Commission Seat A $320.17 g. County Commission Seat B $320.17 h. County Sheriff $627.81 i. School Board District 4 $50.00 j. School Board District 5 $50.00 k.
