NOTICE OF ELECTION
2026 REGULAR GENERAL ELECTION
I, Kali L. Gleave, Piute County Clerk, State of Utah, do hereby certify that the following is a list of the offices to be filled at the regular general election to be held in the County of Piute on Tuesday, November 3, 2026; the Declaration of Candidacy filing period for these offices begins on Friday January 2, 2026 at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 5:00 p.m., Thursday, January 8, 2026.
1. FEDERAL
a. U.S. House of Representatives. One (1) Representative for a two (2) year term in each of the following U.S. Congressional Districts:
i. Third District, which consists of Beaver, Carbon, Daggett, Duchesne, Emery, Garfield, Grand, Iron, Kane, Morgan, Piute, San Juan, Summit, Uintah, Wasatch, Washington, and Wayne Counties as well as portions of Utah and Weber Counties.
2. STATE
a. State House of Representatives. One (1) member of the Utah House of Representatives for a two (2) year term from each of the seventy-five (75) state legislative districts.
b. Local School Boards. These positions will be elected for a four (4) year term. Piute County School Board. Three (3) Members of the School board.
i. District One (1) includes the west side of Highway 89 in Marysvale.
ii. District Two (2) includes the east side of Highway 89 in Marysvale and all of Junction.
iii. District Three (3) includes the northwest side of Highway 89 in Circleville
3. JUDICIAL
a. Supreme Court. There will be a retention election for two (2) Supreme Court Justices, provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period.
b. Court of Appeals. There will be a retention election for six (6) Court of Appeals Judges, provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period.
c. District Court. There will be a retention election for sixteen (16) District Court Judges in the following districts, provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period:
i. Sixth District. One (1) Judge in the Sixth Judicial District, which consists of Garfield, Kane, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, and Wayne Counties.
d. Juvenile Court. There will be a retention election for eleven (11) Juvenile Court Judges in the following districts, provided that the incumbent(s) whose term is expiring files during the filing period:
i. Sixth District. One (1) Judge in the Sixth Judicial District, which consists of Garfield, Kane, Piute, Sanpete, Sevier, and Wayne Counties
e. Justice Court. Any Justice Court judge whose term is expiring shall be subject to an unopposed retention election in the county or counties in which the court to which the judge is appointed is located.
4. COUNTY
a. County Offices. These positions will be elected for a four (4) year term
i. County Commissioner/Surveyor (A)
County Commissioner (B)
County Attorney
County Clerk/Auditor
County Sheriff
