NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT ON Tuesday, November 25, 2026, a public hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. by the Murray City Council to accept public comment and express its sentiment regarding a request by the South Salt Lake Valley Mosquito Abatement District to increase property taxes. Utah law requires a member of the South Salt Lake Valley Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees will report to the City Council regarding the District's intent to levy a tax rate that exceeds the certified tax rate, resulting in a property tax increase to Murray City residents in 2026 (Utah State Code 17B-1-1001 through -1003). The Board of Trustees member will make the report to the City Council during the City Council Meeting prior to the hearing. The report from the South Salt Lake Valley Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees must include: - a statement that the South Salt Lake Valley Mosquito Abatement District intends to levy a property tax at a rate that exceeds the certified tax rate for the taxable year; - the dollar amount of and purpose for additional ad valorem tax revenue that would be generated by the proposed increase in the certified tax rate; - the approximate percentage increase in ad valorem tax revenue for the special district based on the proposed property tax increase; and - any other information requested by the City Council. Following the report the City Council must: o allow time during the meeting for comment from the City Council and members of the public on the property tax increase; and o express the City Council's sentiment regarding the contemplated property tax increase. The South Salt Lake Valley Mosquito Abatement District Board of Trustees will also hold a public hearing regarding the proposed property tax increase on December 8, 2025 at 6:00 p.m. at the district offices conference room located at 7308 Airport Road, West Jordan, Utah 840842215 N 2200 W, SLC, UT 84116 (or Virtual Link Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81630315463). The purpose of this hearing is to receive public comment concerning the tax increase proposed by the South Salt Lake Valley Mosquito Abatement District as described above. Council Members may participate in the meeting via telephonic communication. If a Council Member does participate via telephonic communication, the Council Member will be on speaker phone. The speaker phone will be amplified so that the other Council Members and all other persons present in the Council Chambers will be able to hear all discussions.

The Council meets the first and third Tuesday of each month. An annual meeting schedule is adopted and published in a newspaper of general circulation at the beginning of the year. Meeting agendas are also published on the City's website, as are approved
