Description/Agenda
THE DAGGETT BOARD OF EDUCATION INVITES YOU TO ATTEND THEIR UPCOMING 'TOWN HALL' October 21, 2025 - 7:00 PM Flaming Gorge Elementary or Manila High School Attend the meeting closest to you. The locations are not grade specific. Online Link: https://uetn-org.webex.com/meet/lasay Strategic Plan The Board is working on a Strategic Plan. This is an opportunity for community involvement. Possible Topics for Discussion 1. Student Safety We give your children prevention training about each of these issues: Bullying, Internet, Suicide, Sexual Abuse, Drugs/Alcohol. Is that OK? Do you feel your children are safe at school? 2. Comprehensive Guidance Are we giving your students enough guidance regarding HS Courses, College Applications, FAFSA, and Scholarships? 3. Combined Grades: Several years ago, parents requested that DSD create single grade classrooms at MES. At what point does this no longer make sense? Early projections show the MES 2nd grade enrollment at 3 students. 4. Universal Mascot: The FGE mascot is the Eagle; the MES mascot is the Colt; the MHS mascot is the Mustang. Because all students, when they compete, compete as Mustangs, should we have each school mascot be the Mustang? 5. Un-Reinforced Masonry The old high School no longer meets the seismic code. Should we tear the building down or do the seismic upgrade? 6. School Size During the 2008 SY, FGE enrollment dropped to 9 students with 1 teacher running a K-3 configuration. At what point is a school too small to keep open? 7. Transportation Routes The State reimburses DSD for bus routes with 10 or more eligible student-riders. Should DSD run routes that are not reimbursed? 8. Bond The current Bond will be paid off in 4 more years. Part of the Strategic Plan is a Building Plan. What should the Board be considering next? 9. Other Is there something else you would like to talk about to help improve our schools?
