The Oak City town Council Adopted the following Ordinance at its October 16, 2025 Town Board Public Hearing and Regular Meeting

ORDINANCE NUMBER 2025-03
AN ORDINANCE TO PROVIDE FOR THE ADDITION OF A 0.5 ACRE MINIMUM RURAL RESIDENTIAL
DISTRICT LOT DESIGNATION TO THE TOWN OF OAK CITY OFFICIAL ZONING MAP WITH NECESSARY CHANGES TO REFLECT THIS ADDITION IN THE OAK CITY TOWN CODE, CHAPTER 155.
THIS ORDINANCE ALSO CHANGES THE ZONING DISTRICT ABBREVIATIONS TO INCLUDE
ASSOCIATED ACREAGE IN THE ABBREVIATION FOR EASE OF IDENTIFICATION.

WHEREAS, the Town of Oak City desires to follow guidelines established in the Zoning Ordinance of Oak City. (Ord. 2001-02; passed 10/03/2001); and
WHEREAS, the Town of Oak City has followed the Zoning Map Amendment Procedures found in The Oak City Town Code. (Title 15, Chapter 155); and
WHEREAS, the Town of Oak City desires to add an additional Rural Residential District classification of .5 acres (RR-.5) to the Town of Oak City Official Zoning Map; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Oak City also desires to make changes to zoning district abbreviations to make it easier to understand the minimum lot size by looking at the abbreviation.
For Example: Currently, a .4 acre lot is RR-1 and will change to RR-.4; a 1 acre lot is RR-2 and will change to RR-1; a 4 acre Agricultural District designation is A and will change to A-4.
NOW THEREFORE, be it ordained that the Town Council of the Town of Oak City, Utah, with approval from the Oak City Planning and Zoning Committee, approves the addition of a new Rural Residential District (R-.5) and to make necessary updates in the Town of Oak City Official Zoning Map and Town Code, Chapter 155: Zoning. This ordinance will take effect upon passage on October 17, 2025
