City Councilmember Tyler Melling Announces Resignation; Cedar City invites interested residents to submit applications by November 5, 2025, before 5:00 P.M.
Cedar City hereby announces the resignation of Councilmember Tyler Melling, effective October 16, 2025, who is moving out of the City. Pursuant to Utah Code ยงยง 10-3-301 and 20A-1-510, the City Council will fill the vacancy by appointing a qualified individual who resides in Cedar City. The Council seat will be filled through an appointment process to serve the remainder of the term, through calendar year 2027. Qualified individuals who wish to be considered for the appointment must submit an application to the City Recorder no later than 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 5, 2025. Applications may be obtained from the City Recorder. The applicant may also submit a resume along with a brief statement of interest with the application. A public meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at 5:30 p.m. in the Cedar City Council Chambers located at 10 North Main Street, Cedar City, Utah, during which the City Council will interview all applicants and vote to fill the vacancy.
