Job Posting Upper Community Recreation District Board Member Location: Altamont Utah Position Type: Board Member - Volunteer Time Commitment: Monthly Meeting, 1st Thursday of each month, some meetings outside of regularly scheduled, participation in community events Application Deadline: November 15, 2025 Upper Community Recreation District was established to provide oversight and support for the youth sports programs, ensuring that children have access to safe, well-organized, and athletic opportunities that promote teamwork, personal development, and physical fitness. In addition, the district is responsible for the ongoing maintenance and improvement of local parks and rodeo grounds, preserving these valuable community spaces for recreation, events, and public enjoyment. The Rec District also supports and sponsors our annual Longhorn Day Celebration. We are currently seeking outgoing, engaged individuals to serve on our Board of Directors. Board Members help guide the strategic direction, oversee fiscal management, and ensure services align with the needs of our community within the district. Responsibilities - Attend and actively participate in regular board meetings (typically the first Thursday of the month) - Provide strategic oversight and input on budgets, programs, and initiatives - Represent the interests of community members within the district - Serve on committees - Uphold transparency, accountability, and ethical standards Qualifications - Must live in Mountain Home, Boneta, Talmage, Upalco or Arcadia - Demonstrates interest in our community and actively participates in the events it offers. - Ability to commit time to attend meetings and participate in board activities Term Board Members serve a term of 4 years, with the possibility of renewal or reappointment based on performance and continued eligibility.
