BALLARD CITY RESOLUTION #202509-001
A RESOLUTION CANCELLING THE NOVEMBER 2025 MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION AND DECLARING EACH UNOPPOSED CANDIDATE ELECTED TO OFFICE.
WHEREAS, Ballard City provides that city elections shall be held in accordance with the laws of the State of Utah; and
WHEREAS, Utah Code Annotated 20A-1-202, establishes the first Tuesday after the first Monday in November of each odd-numbered year for the purposes of conducting a municipal general election; and
WHEREAS, no proposition is to appear on the ballot in the election; and
WHEREAS, the filing deadlines for placement on the ballot and the declaration of write-in candidacy has passed; and
WHEREAS, each municipal candidate is unopposed; and
WHEREAS, Utah Code Annotated 20A-1-206 specifically provides for a process whereby the City may cancel a municipal general election when the series of events identified above have occurred and upon compliance with applicable law.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Ballard City Council, that the November 2025, municipal general election is cancelled, and each unopposed candidate is declared elected to office upon compliance with applicable law.

This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its passage by the Ballard City Council adopted in a public meeting.
