- TriCounty Health Department is accepting feedback on proposed wastewater rule changes. Public comments should be submitted to publiccomment@tricountyhealthut.gov. The proposed rule changes can be found in the attachments portion of this notice. Synopsis of proposed changes: - Contractors will be required to register with TriCounty Health Department so that training in wastewater disposal and treatment can be verified. - Trained contractors will be allowed to evaluate sites for wastewater disposal without waiting for TriCounty Health Department to verify the work. - Contractors will be required to notify TriCounty Health Department when evaluating proposed sites and when installing onsite wastewater systems. - Registrations can be revoked for non-compliance with local and state rules. - A grievance process will be added if registration is denied or revoked. - These proposed changes would not alter siting, design, and installation requirements, but would enable contractors to expedite the process. - Corrects some grammatical and spelling errors.
