A RESOLUTION OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF
DUTCH JOHN, UTAH, CANCELLING THE NOVEMBER 4, 2025
MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION.
RECITALS
Whereas, a Municipal General Election is scheduled to be held on November 4, 2025, for the purpose of electing two Town Council members; and
WHEREAS, no municipal ballot propositions have been filed for consideration by the voters; and
WHEREAS, Utah Code Annotated 20A-1-206 provides for a process by which a local legislative body may cancel and election when certain conditions are met and upon compliance with all applicable laws.
RESOLUTION
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF DUTCH JOHN, UTAH AS FOLLOWS:
Concellation of election. The November 4, 2025, Municipal General Election for the Town of Dutch John is hereby canceled.
DECLARATION OF CANDIDATES. The following unopposed candidate is hereby considered to be elected to office:
Harriet Dickerson, Town Council Member
FULFILLMENT OF THE SECOND VACANCY: The second vacancy for which there were no candidate filings will be filled according to the provisions of UCA 20A-1-510.
AUTHORIZATION TO POST NOTICE. The Town Council hereby authorizes the Recorder to provide and post the notice of this cancellation in accordance with Utah Code Annotated 20A-1-206.
EFFECTIVE DATE. This Resolution shall take effect immediately upon adoption.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED, by the Town Council of the Town of Dutch John this 24th day of September, 2025.
