Utah Board of Oil, Gas and Mining Hearing Scheduled in Vernal SALT LAKE CITY - The Board of Oil, Gas and Mining will meet on Wednesday, September 24, at 8 a.m. The meeting will be held electronically,with an anchor location at the Uintah Conference Center, Ashley Board Room, 313 East 200 South, Vernal, Utah, in accordance with Utah Code Ann. § 52-4-207. The meeting will be streamed live on the Department of Natural Resources YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/live/n5mxeESnuwY. Division of Oil, Gas and Mining staff will conduct a briefing session at 8 a.m. 1. Presentation of division recommendations for the oil and gas bonding rule 2. Proposed board hearing schedule for 2026 3. Other 4. Next month's agenda and division calendar 6. Opportunity for public comment The Board will hear the following matters as soon as the briefing session concludes: 1. Docket No. 2025-041Cause No. 134-03 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of WEM OPERATING, LLC for an emergency order authorizing the flaring of gas in excess of the amounts allowed under Utah Administrative Code Rule R649-3-20 from the: (I) Arabian 44-4-18-17-7H Well; (II) Walker 4-4-7-8-1HWell; (III) Shire 4-5-12-11-2H Well; and (IV) Clydesdale 4-5-13-14-8H Well, all with a surface location in Lot 1, Section 18, T4S, R4W, U.S.M, Duchesne County, Utah. (Petitioner to provide updates regarding: (a) gas volumes flared fromsubject wells between July 30, 2025 and September 24, 2025; (b) status of theWEM's gas infrastructure efforts in the area of the subject wells; and (c)request, to the extent reasonably required, the amendment and/or extension ofthe Board's Order to further address the flaring of excess gas volumes from thesubject wells from and after September 24, 2025.) 2. Docket No. 2025-043 Cause No. 470-20 -In the Matter of the Amended Request for Agency Action of FINLEY RESOURCES INC. for an order establishing stand-up (vertical) overlapping drilling units and drilling unit boundary well drilling units for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from portions of the Green River and Wasatch Formations from long lateral horizontal wells comprised of portions of Township 2 South, Ranges 1 and 2 East, U.S.M, and Township 6 South, Range 19 East, S.L.M., all in Uintah County, Utah. 3. Docket No. 2025-045 Cause No. 600-10 -In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of UINTA GAS, LLC for an order establishing separate special diagonal drilling units and overlapping drilling unit boundary well drilling units for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from portions of the Mesaverde, Blackhawk and Mancos formations from long lateral horizontal wells comprised of portions of Sections 2 through 4, 9 through 11, 15 through 17, and 20 through 22, Township 9 South, Range 17East, S.L.M, Duchesne and Uintah counties, Utah.
