RESOLUTION NO. 2025-08 A RESOLUTION MADE BY THE KAMAS CITY COUNCIL CANCELLING THE MAYORAL RACE FOR THE KAMAS CITY 2025 MUNICIPAL GENERAL ELECTION WHEREAS, according to Utah Code 20A-1-206 Kamas City desires to cancel the November 4, 2025 Mayoral Race for the Municipal Election and certifies that the number of candidates does not exceed the number of open at-large municipal offices. WHEREAS, Kamas City has one at-large Mayoral seat open for election, with one applicant, Kamas City has no municipal ballot propositions, and Kamas City did not receive any write-in candidates. NOW THEREFORE, be it hereby resolved by the City Council of Kamas, Utah, as follows: The November 4, 2025 Mayoral Race for the Municipal General Election is hereby cancelled. The Kamas City Council certifies that there is one candidate for the at-large Mayoral seat. The following candidate is considered to be elected to office, Matthew James McCormick for the four-year Mayoral seat. This decision shall be noticed to the public as required by Utah Code 20A-1-206(4) to the Lieutenant Governor's office as well as a Class A notice to the public at least 15 days before the election. This Resolution shall become effective immediately upon passage. PASSED AND APPROVED this 9th day of September, 2025.
