Woodruff Town Board Meeting August 19, 2025 Minutes from the Woodruff Town Board meeting held August 19, 2025 at the Town Hall at 5:00 p.m. Those present: Mayor Scott Sabey Council Members: Monika Schulthess (435) 881-9098, m.schulthess@hotmail.com Raymond Frandsen (801) 448-1545 Seiko Webb (801) 824-1495, seiko.webb@gmail.com Clerk: Allie Deru (435) 793-4201, woodruff@allwest.net Absent: Joel Marler (801) 567-1194, joelmarler@me.com Mayor Sabey opened the meeting. Paul Webb was unable to make it to discuss watering the trees along Main Street. Seiko Webb said that there was a problem with the sprinkler by the store and he hopefully has it fixed. There is another one by Jared Huffaker's that should be replaced. The town will look into replacing the water lines in the future. Monika Schulthess brought up a question that Chris Schulthess had. He is wondering what it would cost to put a meter in for Wren Huffaker at Threll's old lot. The board decided to charge the meter cost to get the water going since there is already a hookup. The town board had a discussion about keys for various things around town. It was decided that the town should purchase a lock box with all extra keys in there for the town board members and Mayor to access. Each board member plus Paul Webb is going to have a key to the storage room by the office. There will be extra water keys made in case there is another water emergency and Chris Schulthess is out of town. Allie Deru discussed changing the office lock and moving all water maps into the storage room. Seiko Webb is going to buy the leftover hamburgers and buns from the town. The Hunter Brothers gave a bid for the work to be done around the town hall for the tourism grant money that was received. They quoted the sidewalk work and fixing the damaged roof and another quote for doing shingles for the entire roof. The board decided to just have them fix the damaged part to save money. The board is very happy with how the roads look and think they did a great job. Seiko Webb made a motion to approve August minutes. Monika Schulthess seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Monika Schulthess made a motion to approve the September bills. Raymond Frandsen seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. The board decided that the pay as you go messaging system would work the best for our needs. Monika Schulthess tested it to see how it worked and she said it worked well. The town is going to boost the eleven kids from Woodruff who did 4-H. $50 per kid will be donated. Mayor Sabey has an interest in annexing his road but would rather wait until he is out of office so that there is no conflict of interest. His road right now shows that it is a town road. That will be discussed at a future meeting. The town board approved the installing of a new door on the garage of the town hall. Seiko Webb made a motion to approve the door. Monika Schulthess seconded the motion. Motion carried unanimously. Nikki Weston had a discussion with Mayor Sabey about how we can boost economic development in Woodruff. This is a subject for a future discussion with the board. Mayor Sabey is going to return the extra speaker that was not used for the rodeo grounds at the 4th of July.
