Description/Agenda
The public hearing will be held before the Cache County School District Board of Education meeting the same evening. This will be an opportunity for community members to voice their opinions and concerns.
Need for Proposed Changes
Boundary changes: Overcrowding in the district's elementary schools has led to the construction of three new schools and the reconfiguration of elementary schools to serve students in grades K-5 and middle schools to serve students in grades 6-8. These changes have led the district to propose new attendance boundaries for the following schools to equalize enrollments.
Affected schools: North Cache Middle School, Spring Creek Middle School, South Cache Middle School, Birch Creek Elementary, Summit Elementary, Sunrise Elementary, Cedar Ridge Elementary, Providence Elementary, River Heights Elementary, Millville Elementary, Canyon Elementary, Lincoln Elementary, Wellsville Elementary, and Heritage Elementary.
Secondary DLI changes: The district's DLI committee has proposed changes to increase access across all of the secondary schools. Currently, two DLI programs are housed at South Cache Middle School and Ridgeline High School.
Affected Schools: South Cache Middle School, the new Nibley middle school, Ridgeline High School, and Mountain Crest High School.
Proposed Solution
For the 2026-2027 school year, we propose that the new boundaries map created by the Facilities Advisory Committee be adopted for the affected schools. The map can be found at:
We also propose that the French DLI program, currently serving middle school students at South Cache Middle, be relocated to the new middle school in Nibley, and that the Spanish DLI program, presently serving high school students at Ridgeline High School, be relocated to Mountain Crest High School.
Transportation
Students impacted by changes to attendance boundaries will be provided district bus transportation to their new home schools. Students affected by the proposed changes to secondary DLI will not receive district transportation.
