Planning and Zoning Approved Minutes for August 6, 2025
The Planning commission met on Wednesday, August 6, 2025 at the public safety building located at 130 W. Main in Cleveland, Utah at 7:00 pm. Those present were commission members: Tyler Rowley, Nancy Livingston, Chairman Lowell Gardner, and Logan Ellis. Council Member Kristen Vose was not in attendance.
Public attendees: none
The Meeting was called to order by Lowell Gardner at 7:16 pm.
Minutes: Tyler Rowley made a motion to approve the minutes for July 2, 2025 with a correction of a misspelled word al to all. A second was made by Logan Ellis. All were in favor, motion passed.
Public Comments: None
Item #1: Discuss/Approve/Deny Annette Jensen wants to do a business of individual motel units on her main street property. She will need zoning clearance for building the units.
Logan Ellis made a motion to amend agenda to move Item #1 to last since Annette Jensen had not arrived yet. Tyler Rowley seconded. All were in favor, motion passed.
Item #2: Discussion about town ordinances.
Chairman Gardner wanted to discuss ordinances dealing with recreational courts, since this is what we would be using for item #1s discussion. Chairman Gardner stated that we do not have much information in our zoning ordinances. Asked about the other town ordinances not in zoning book. Nancy Livingston retrieved the town Ordinance book and explained what ordinances were in it and went through it to see if there was anything about recreation courts. Chairman Gardner did have some information from State Code, Ferron City, and Orangeville City. Commission looked at state code, Ferron City, and Orangeville's recreation court ordinances. Commission agreed we need to work on clarifying and specifying our own ordinance. Reviewed Ferron and Orangeville Codes for recreational Courts. Would like ordinance information from rest of cities and towns in Emery County to help with clarifying the towns.
Item #1: Annette Jensen did not show. Nancy Livingston made a motion to table the item until next month. Second by Tyler Rowley. All were in favor, motion passed.
Item #3: Adjourn Meeting: Logan Ellis made a motion to adjourn. Nancy Livingston seconded. All were in favor, meeting was adjourned.
Nancy Livingston, Clerk
