Cannonville Town Council Meeting Minutes AUGUST 2025 Cannonvillle town held their regular Monthly Board Meeting Wednesday, August 20, 2025, in the town Hall. The meeting began at 7:00pm. Public in Attendance: Mark Nelson, Pete Jensen, Blair Smith, Anita Fletcher, Ramona Morreale, Eric McDonald, Cherie Scoffield, Troy & Ethan Willis. Board Members: Stewart Ivie, Melanie Ott, & Alma Fletcher, John Morreale, Mayor Bill Scoffield, Machele Nelson, clerk. Prayer: Bill Scoffield Pledge: Stewart Ivies Reading and Approval of Agenda: The agenda was read and adopted. Motion by John Morreale, 2nd by Melanie Ott, all were in favor. Reading and Approval of minutes: June 18, 2025, town council minutes were reviewed and approved, Motion to approve was by Stewart Ivie, 2nd by Alma Fletcher, all were in favor. Mayor's Items -Mayor Scoffield thanked everybody who participated in the primary elections. Top four selected are Davis Kendrick, Landyn Brinkerhoff, Jeanee Shakespeare & Chelse Nielson. -Garkane CEO, Dan McClendon, has agreed in principle to help electrify and decorate town power poles during the Christmas season. Details to be arranged with an electrician and Garkane installers -Parking lot has been striped including the two handicap spots. -Fire danger warnings have been issued by the state. No fires, period. Public Comment: -Troy and Ethan Willis reviewed a purchase plan for some agricultural land around the Katherine Riffel place. Council recommended aligning the boundaries accordingly, and record it. -250America happenings for Cannonville was discussed. Cherie Scoffield indicated that two quilts were underway, hopefully to be ready by December 31st. Departmental Reports: Planning: Pete Jensen indicated Justin Wayment completed the fiduciary review and the suggested nine changes have been edited in. Will forward final copy to the lawyer shortly. Water: Still waiting to hear back from Sunrise Engr on SCADA controls and funding. Alma also suggested $40K be set aside, PTIF Funds, for activating the dead taps in the future. All water testing is complete and within acceptable parameters. Fire: Weeding was completed at the firehouse. Cherie voiced concerned about emergency notifications including the town early warning siren being activated. Roads: Street signs installed. Thanks to John Morreale, John Bell and Erik McDonald that got them installed. Ordered a couple more signs and and three stops signs. Parks: All interior painting has been completed. Looking for a time to paint the doors, counter tops, and the epoxy the floors. Adjourned: 7:33 pm; next meeting September 17, 2025; motion to adjourn by Stewart Ivie, 2nd by Alma Fletcher; approved.
