PUBLIC HEARING
Notice is hereby given that the Sevier County Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, September 10th at 6:00 p.m. in the Commission Chambers of the Sevier County Administration Building, 250 North Main, Richfield, Utah to consider public comment on the Brooklyn Zone (BZ). The Brooklyn Zone designation is a proposal to address a long-standing land use problem in the subdivision known locally as the 'Elsinore Addition.' When the subdivision was created in the 1960s, the intended use of the ground was for seasonal and recreational activities including equine interests. Over the decades, actual land use has evolved into permanent residential housing that was not envisioned when the subdivision was approved. Sevier County is now proposing land use regulations that would treat the subdivision as a permanent single family housing development. With the culinary water system improvements starting this Fall, it is an appropriate time to present land use regulations for public input and final adoption. That process begins with the Sevier County Planning Commission reviewing draft language and making changes before presenting a recommendation to the County Commissioners. Public hearings will be conducted at both the planning commission and county commission levels.
This information is available at the Sevier County Building and Zoning Department during normal office hours.
