Ballot Arguments for RAP Tax
On Tuesday, August 12, 2025, the City Council voted to place a RAP Tax on the 2025 Municipal November 4, 2025, Ballot. If approved by voters, the tax would be a 0.1% sales tax and the funds collected could only be spent on recreation facilities such as parks and trails.
The sales tax rate means $0.01 would be collected for every $10 spent.
The Ballot language will read as follows, 'Shall Monroe City, Utah, be authorized to impose 0.1% sales and use tax to help fund recreational facilities in Monroe?'
More information, including a Voter Information Pamphlet will be forthcoming.
Any member of the public who wishes to submit arguments in favor or against the RAP Tax for the Voter Information Pamphlet needs to file a request with the City Recorder's office in person at City Hall (Monday - Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Friday 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.) or by emailing monroecity@monroeut.gov. The deadline to request to write an argument is Friday, August 29.
