MAYOR UPDATES: Preston Parker was the only one who put a bid in for the 2 water shares. He bid $20 per share. At the end of the season we need to ask Scott Mills how much an acre foot went for and then bill Preston.
WATER:
-Dale Uden came to the meeting asking for help with the cost of replacing his water line, $930.70. He was told that the back house had a leak. He could not find a wet spot outside, or a leak on the inside, so he decided to dig up the line and replace it. While digging around the meter he broke the setter. This was during the weekend. On Monday after the water had been turned off for a few days, it was realized that the addresses of the two rentals were mixed up in the computer and it was actually the front house that had the leak. The addresses had been that way ever since the house was put in 15-20 yrs ago. That is why he is asking for help with the cost because he said he would have never put a new water meter in if he hadn't been told it was that specific address. He was told to turn both houses off to check for a leak and also to download the app for both houses. He only downloaded one app and turned off one house. The town paid $350.00 for the new setter. Troy motioned what is on that side of the meter is the customers responsibility, Doug seconded the motion. All were in favor.
- Taylor White from Whites Sanitation was here to renew the 5 year contract with the town. They are proposing an increase on the monthly garbage rate from $11.00-$13.00 because of the increase in cost for everything, and additional carts would also go up a dollar from $2.50-$3.50. They will continue to pick up additional items. They have had instances where people have set out their own personal cans, but not their White's receptacle. They will not dump those, unless their White's can is filled first and is set out with the personal can. They will also take bulky items such as couches and appliances. White's also provides a walk up service for anyone that cannot get their garbage can out to the road. It must be approved by the council. Doug motioned to renew the contract with Whites Sanitation, Troy seconded the motion. All were in favor.
PLANNING COMMISSION:
-Dallin Singleton was here for permission to lean to off of his storage container. Doug made a motion to accept the permit. Gene seconded the motion.
MISC:
-Chris Gibbs -wasn't in attendance.
-Brad Carter was here asking what emergency preparedness the Town had in place. Doug said at one time we shared an emergency trailer with another town, but he didn't know what happened to it. Brad was proposing for the day of service in September having breakfast and an emergency meeting with the people of the town and getting organized in case of an emergency. He asked if the town would be willing to help the Joseph LDS ward with this project and if they could use the JCC on September 6th. The town said they would be willing to help get the word out through the town's call multiplier app. Zac said Bill Tauffer is a good resource to use for this type of information. Doug made a motion to let Brad Carter and Bill Keach use the building and do their day of service on the day they choose. Troy seconded the motion.
Troy motioned to adjourn the meeting, Everyone seconded the motion.
