PUBLIC NOTICE
Vacancy in the Office of City Council Member
Eureka City is accepting applications to fill a vacancy for an unexpired term of Eureka City Council Member. Greg W. Evans resigned as Council Member of Eureka effective July 28, 2025.
The vacancy in the office of Council Member will be filled by an interim appointment to finish out the unexpired four-year term as Council Member. The interim appointment will be in effect until January following the next Municipal Election held in 2025.
The appointment will take place at a Special Council Meeting to be held on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at 7:00 p.m., Eureka City Offices, 15 North Church Street, Eureka, Utah 84628.
Citizens interested must meet the qualifications listed below:
- Be a United States Citizen.
- Be at least 18 years old.
- Be a resident of the municipality or a resident of the recently annexed area for 12 consecutive months.
- Be a registered voter of the municipality.
- In accordance with Utah Constitution, Article IV, Section 6, a mentally incompetent individual, an individual convicted of a felony, or an individual convicted of treason or a crime against the elective franchise may not hold office in this state until the right to hold elective office is restored under Section 20A-2-101.3 or 20A-2-101.5.
Applications may be obtained at the City Office. Applications must be submitted to the City Recorder, prior to the deadline of Monday, August 18, 2024, at 5:00 p.m.
