ORDINANCE NO. O-31-2025 AN ORDINANCE OF EAGLE MOUNTAIN CITY, UTAH, AMENDING THE EAGLE MOUNTAIN MUNICIPAL CODE CHAPTER 17.80 SIGN REGULATIONS AND SIGN PERMITS PREAMBLE WHEREAS, athletic facilities commonly include fencing for safety and delineation, and signage is often displayed on these fences to recognize businesses and organizations that sponsor youth sports leagues or contribute to facility upkeep; and WHEREAS, such athletic fields are typically owned and maintained by Eagle Mountain City or local school districts, serving as valuable public recreational assets; and WHEREAS, the current sign regulations in Eagle Mountain Municipal Code (EMMC), Section 17.80, do not explicitly define or address signage placed on athletic field fencing for sponsorship or donor recognition; and WHEREAS, the City Council finds it in the public interest to amend Section 17.80 of the EMMC to define this type of signage, provide basic standards for display, and exempt it from permitting fees; BE IT ORDAINED by the City Council of Eagle Mountain City, Utah: 1. The City Council finds that all required notices, public hearings, and other requirements have been completed for the City Council to consider an amendment to the Eagle Mountain Municipal Code Sign Regulations and Sign Permits, Section 17.80, as described in Exhibit A. 2. The amendment described in Exhibit A is hereby approved. 3. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its first posting or publication. ADOPTED by the City Council of Eagle Mountain City, Utah, this 15th day of July, 2025. EAGLE MOUNTAIN CITY, UTAH
