When are ballots sent? - Ballots are sent no later than 45 days before each election. What elections are happening this year? - Municipal elections - including all cities and towns, as well as certain elected special service district boards. Election Information: - Municipalities and elected special service districts will be participating in the 2025 election cycle as needed. Entities may cancel an election if the number of candidates equals or is less than the number of seats available per race. - If you are eligible to vote in a municipality or a special service district that is holding an election, please request a ballot to be sent to you. - Visit the Federal Voting Assistance Program website, fvap.gov, for more info. Election Dates: - Primary Election - August 12, 2025 - General Election - November 4, 2025 Military and Overseas Absentee Voting: Voting is a constitutional right that American citizens eighteen (18) years and older can freely exercise. The Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act (UOCAVA) covers all active-duty members of the Uniformed Services and their families, members of the merchant marines and their families, and US citizens who reside overseas, and assists them in exercising their right to vote. A military or overseas voter is one who has an APO, FPO, or a foreign address. This does NOT include Puerto Rico, Guam, American Samoa, or other American territories, as they have USPS addresses. Citizens have options to consider that allow them to exercise their right to vote. Choose the option below that best fits your situation: Option #1: Register to vote and apply for an absentee ballot in one step through the Federal Voter Assistance Program website, www.fvap.gov 1. Citizens may register to vote and request an absentee ballot by filling out the Federal Post Card Application (FPCA) and mailing it to the local election official where they are eligible to vote. Here in Washington County, Utah, the address is: 111 E Tabernacle St George UT, 84770 Phone: 435-301-7248 2. The election official approves/disapproves the FPCA or requests additional information. 3. If the FPCA is approved, the election official sends an absentee ballot to the citizen. 4. The citizen votes and returns their ballot to their election official by the deadline. Option #2: Register to vote and apply for an absentee ballot in one step through the State of Utah online voter registration website, https://secure.utah.gov/voterreg. This is an all-in-one service for Utah residents. - The voter address MUST be the same as the Driver's License address for instance, online registration. Your address must match the address on file with the Driver License Division (DLD) in order to register online to vote. - If your driver's license address is not current, please update your address with the Driver License Division at https://secure.utah.gov/dlr/. This must be done before submitting your online voter registration. After updating your address, please allow 24 hours before returning to register to vote online. - If your address is not current with DLD you may still use the online voter registration system, but you will be required to print the voter form with the correct address, sign it and mail it in. To successfully vote absentee, UOCAVA citizens should: - Allow plenty of time to request, receive, and return their ballot. - Notify their local election officials each time their mailing address changes. - Become familiar with their state's absentee voting laws, procedures, and deadlines to make sure their ballot is properly executed and will be counted.
