UOCAVA Voters 20A-16-502(1) Information about voting in the 2025 Municipal Election year. What does UOCAVA stand for? - Uniformed and Overseas Citizens Absentee Voting Act Who is eligible? - Covered Voters include uniformed service members and their families and overseas citizens per the Act and Utah Code 20A-16-102. When are ballots sent? - Ballots are sent no later than 45 days before each election. What elections are happening this year? - Municipal elections - including all cities and towns - as well as certain elected special service district boards. Election Information: - Municipalities and elected special service districts will be participating in the 2025 election cycle as needed. Entities may cancel an election if the number of candidates equals or is less than the number of seats available per race. - If you are eligible to vote in a municipality or a special service district that is holding an election, please request a ballot to be sent to you. - Visit the Federal Voting Assistance Program website, fvap.gov, for more info. Ballots will be emailed, faxed or mailed on or before: - Primary Election (if needed) June 27, 2025. - General Election - September 19, 2025. HOW TO CAST A FEDERAL WRITE-IN ABSENTEE BALLOT (FWAB) (Required by ยง 20A-16-502(2)(b)) 1. Obtain the blank FWAB (Form SF186) from https://www.fvap.gov/ or any U.S. embassy or consulate. 2. Complete the FWAB 'Voter Information' page, sign and date. 3. On the FWAB Office / Ballot Measure grid, write the office titles exactly as shown on vote.utah.gov and then write the candidate's name of your choice. a. Visit vote.utah.gov for candidate information. 4. If a ballot proposition is added, write its number (e.g., 'Proposition 1') and then write 'FOR' or 'AGAINST.' a. NOTE: No ballot propositions are scheduled at this time. Optional: You may add any federal, state, or county offices that appear on your Utah ballot in the 'Addendum' area following the same format. 5. Sign the voter declaration. 6.
