Notice of Public Meeting NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on August 5, 2025 at approximately 5:15 p.m., the Sandy City Council will hold a meeting to hear a presentation of a rezone application submitted by Winslow Burton on behalf of EmpoweringU for property located at 11339 S. 700 E. The proposal is to rezone approximately 2.1 acres from the CvC Zone to the PO Zone. The applicant would like to lease a portion of the building for a land use that is not allowed in the CvC Zone but would be allowed in the PO Zone. The City Council is scheduled to hold a public meeting to take action on this application in a separate meeting on August 26, 2025 at approximately 5:15p.m. The August 5th and August 26th Sandy City Council meetings will both be conducted in-person, in the Sandy City Council Chambers at City Hall, and via Zoom Webinar. Interested parties may attend and participate in the meeting either in-person or via the webinar link. The webinar link, and more information about the application, can be found in the meeting agenda, which will be published at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the meeting and can be found at https://sandyutah.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx. Public comment on this application will be accepted during the agenda item at the August 26, 2025, Public Meeting. If any member of the public is unable to attend or participate in the meeting, that person may e-mail the City Council Executive Director, Dustin Fratto, at dfratto@sandy.utah.gov by 3:00 PM on the day of the meeting to have those comments distributed to the City Council. Alternatively, written comments may be sent directly to the entire City Council by emailing citizencomment@sandy.utah.gov. The Planning Commission held a public hearing on July 17, 2025, and forwarded a positive recommendation for the application to the City Council. If the zone change is approved by the City Council, separate applications (i.e. business license) would need to be submitted and approved prior to improvements of the proposed lease. Zoning regulations, prohibitions, and allowed uses can be found in Chapter 21 of the Development Code of Sandy City 2008 (www.sandy.utah.gov/departments/community-development/planning/zoning-ordinance). All interested parties are invited to attend.
