Bona Vista Water Improvement District provides safe, clean drinking water to the residents of Farr West, Marriott-Slaterville, Harrisville, Plain City, and parts of West Haven and Pleasant View. Established in 1956, we are a certified public water provider fully compliant with Utah Division of Drinking Water standards. Our mission is to deliver high-quality culinary water with exceptional service and a focus on environmental responsibility. Staffed by certified Utah Operators-including specialists in backflow prevention; we maintain a trusted, reliable water system that supports the health and growth of our communities.
We are hiring a full-time Administrative Technician to support the daily operations of our utility office. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the essential services that support our community. We're looking for a detail-oriented and dependable individual who thrives in an office setting and brings a positive, service-oriented attitude to every task.
Job Description
This position plays a vital role in the administrative, clerical, and accounting functions of our office. You'll handle accounts receivable, billing, records management, conservation tracking, and more. You'll also provide backup for payroll and accounts payable and help ensure communication flows smoothly across departments.
What You Will Do:
- Manage accounts receivable and collections
- Generate invoices for plan reviews, connection fees, and impact fees
- Track and report conservation program data
- Maintain confidential billing and accounting records
- Provide general office support including phones and scheduling
- Assist customers with payments and inquiries
- Backup payroll and accounts payable during staff absences
- Draft correspondence and internal reports
- Coordinate communication across departments
- Maintain office supplies and arrange for equipment servicing
- Attend occasional meetings for administrative support
- Help prepare public notices and regulatory documents
- Additional duties as needed
What You Will Bring:
- High school diploma or GED (required); Associate's Degree in Business or Accounting (preferred)
- Minimum 2 years of administrative or accounting experience
- Experience in a utility or municipal office (preferred)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Familiarity with accounting software and billing systems
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Accuracy and attention to detail in recordkeeping and task execution
What You Will Experience:
- Work is performed in a standard office environment
- Regularly required to sit for extended periods, use computers and phones, and perform data entry
- Repetitive wrist, hand, and finger movements
- Occasional standing, walking, bending, and lifting up to 25 lbs
- Clear communication with customers and staff via phone and in person
