D. Public Input/ Reports, Non agenda items (limited to three minutes)-
Sergeant Dutson spoke about stats through the Utah County Sheriffs Office for April 2025. In total there were 18 calls, some include,3 disturbances, 1 drug, 1 fire, 1 medical, 1 mental, 2 suspicious activity, 1 theft, 2 traffic offenses, 1 vehicle theft, 1 VIN inspection, 1 welfare, 1 child abuse, and other deputy assists.
1. Approval of Minutes- April 8, 2025- Alisha motions, Randy seconds, all in favor.
2. Council Updates
JC- Celebration Line up- went over the paper that was typed up. Two day event this year. Friday and Saturday. Upon talking about this, Steven mentioned that the fire truck will have a ceremony event that Tuesday before the celebration weekend, some what of an open house. This will be advertised along with the celebration flyers etc. no rodeo this year, that will be in June instead.
JC- 911 dispatch was able to meet and pass/approve the 2025-2026 fiscal year budget. There was a change to the payments, so he will get this to the office so we can reflect the change on our fiscal year budget.
Steven- circled back to the new fire truck and noted that they only had to finance around 220k. He also mentioned that he approved a brochure for the trail that is coming into town. They will be going door to door contact for those homes it will conflict with. Staker Parkens and UDOT will start the work the day after memorial day and plan to end before school starts in August. Discussion was had on a pedestrian crossing and buttons will be installed and will be flashing lights, not positive what that entails but they are improving the safety measures, and have a lot more than currently.
E. Adjournment to work session-JC motions, Jonathan seconds, all in favor.
F. Work Session- JC brought up cemetery and defining the difference between resident and non resident. There have been some questions about defining that term for open/closing in the office. Council discussed that they need to reside in Goshen to have resident fees. Some more discussion on this could happen in future to make terms for assisted living individuals. Other topics include the fee schedule, in this future discussion it will include, cemetery, loader/mini ex/ backhoe rental pricing, Rec director for budget, elections for budget, and a few more that could come up for the meeting.
