Amalga Town Council Wednesday May 14, 2025, at 7 p.m. at the Amalga town hall at 6590 N 2400 W AMALGA, UTAH Agenda as follows: 1. Welcome / Pledge of allegiance. 2. Roll Call Dave wood Mayor, Dave Lee Council Member, Mark Cowley Council Member, Matt Regen, Sid Munk, Jordan Hansen 3. Approve Minutes from April 9th, meeting. a. Motion to approve Dave Lee b. 2nd Colette Dursteler 4. Matt Regan Budget for 2024-2025 and 2025-2026 a. Next month Budget hearing, b. Now is the time to plan for next years Budget gave each council member a copy of the worksheet for next month c. Matt and Shantrell Will get together before next meeting to Go over next year's Budget. 5. Amalga Days Jordan Jansen a. 2 tshirt designs b. See flier c. Flier will go in this May and June water bill, d. Need to find out how much the tshirts will be. e. Pies will hopefully be donated from the community. 6. Interlocal agreement with Smithfield Fire Department. a. Contact them for an interlocal agreement_ Colette Will do this. 7. Sheriff's Report and contract $5600 a. Dave Lee b. 2nd Mark Cowley 8. Interlocal Agreement for 911 Interlocal Agreement for 911 to increase $1.00 with a slow increase until 2030 a. Motion to Approve Mark Cowley b. Collete Dursteller 9. Approve water operator for Amalga Town a. Talked to Kaycee John and we will hire her for our small systems operator. This will take pressure off of Mark. b. Base pay of $225 and $30 and hour after that. c. Propose to hire d. Motion to approve Mark Cowley e. 2nd Dave Lee 10. Council reports: a. Paul Hansen, We got 13000 RAPZ tax for 2025 b. Colette Dursteler, i. Asked to be the volunteer for the fire department interlocal agreement c. Mark Cowley, i. got our pfast testing done. It came back negative next testing will be either 2026 or 2027. We received a grant to cover these cost from the state. ii. Do not have a spigot on well 4. iii. Fire at renegade sports ranch we had plenty of water pressure. d. Dave Lee i. Copy of the Breakfast menu from last year. ii. Propane is bought and grills are cleaned. iii. Had the public hearing on Wednesday night. iv. Syd Munk v. Howard Kunz vi. Next month Planning and zoning meeting will have a discussion about the public hearing. 11. Mayor's report a. Talked to UDOT about the problem at 2400 and 218. She knows every incidence. And they still have two months to finish their report. She says we could put in a bigger light. What if the town decides to do something then it would have to be approve by UDOT. We have 2300 cars go through the intersection each day. Think we need some kind of a warning for the East and west bound traffic. UDOT wants us to write up some solutions and submit them. i. Ideas slow speed, Blinking lights, large signs that says dangerous intersection ahead, add turn lanes. Can we get larger stop signs. What about rumble strips on North south roads. 12. Pay the bills Motion to approve $21,426.22 a. Motion to approve Dave Lee b. 2nd.Colette Dursteller 13. Items for June Council Meeting a. Jordan Hansen Amalga Days b. Fire department interlocal agreement c. Budget Hearing d. Next months council meeting will be on June 17th because Mark Cowley, Colette Dursteler, and Dave Lee will be out of town. e. Need a secretary and one more member for Planning and zoning. Syd Munk: trees from Jason Munks house to Mike Porters house have grown out into the road. Worst one is at the Wilson's would be happy to take them out. Munk's actually own the property to Wilson's property. If a member of the council could talk to them. Mark will go down and take a look at them. 14. Adjournment a. Motion Mark Cowley b. 2nd Colette Dursteler
