Notice of Public Meeting
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on July 1, 2025 at approximately 5:15 p.m., the Sandy City Council will hold a meeting to hear a presentation of a rezone application submitted by Brandon Harris on behalf of Altus Development Group for property located at 951 E. 8800 S. The proposal is to rezone approximately 2.7 acres from the R-1-20A Zone to the R-1-8 Zone. The City Council is scheduled to hold a public meeting to take action on this application in a separate meeting on July 15, 2025 at approximately 5:15p.m.
The July 1st and July 15th Sandy City Council meetings will both be conducted in-person, in the Sandy City Council Chambers at City Hall, and via Zoom Webinar. Interested parties may attend and participate in the meeting either in-person or via the webinar link. The webinar link, and more information about the application, can be found in the meeting agenda, which will be published at least 24 hours prior to the beginning of the meeting and can be found at https://sandyutah.legistar.com/Calendar.aspx.
Public comment will be taken during the general citizen comment period at the public meetings. If any member of the public is unable to attend or participate in the meeting, that person may e-mail the City Council Executive Director, Dustin Fratto, at dfratto@sandy.utah.gov by 3:00 PM on the day of the meeting to have those comments distributed to the City Council. Alternatively, written comments may be sent directly to the entire City Council by emailing citizencomment@sandy.utah.gov.
The Planning Commission held a public hearing on June 5, 2025, and forwarded a positive recommendation for the application to the City Council. If the zone change is approved by the City Council, separate applications (i.e. subdivision, site plan, building permit) would need to be submitted and approved prior to improvements of the proposed project. Zoning regulations, prohibitions, and allowed uses can be found in Chapter 21 of the Development Code of Sandy City 2008 (www.sandy.utah.gov/departments/community-development/planning/zoning-ordinance).
All interested parties are invited to attend. Questions concerning the proposal may be directed to Jake Warner in the Sandy City Community Development Department at (801) 568-7262 or jwarner@sandy.utah.gov.
