Discussion / Action Items

*Discussion Items:
Discussion to use Mountain View Montessori in vision and mission statements rather than using abbreviations.
Discussion using MVMUtah for marketing and online purposes as described:
Below are the clarifications regarding the Mission/Vision Statement and the use of
'MVM Utah' by the Marketing Committee:
1. Match the wording in the Mission and Vision Statements to reflect 'Mountain
View Montessori' for consistency in messaging.
Mission Statement: Mountain View Montessori provides quality education founded on
child-centered Montessori principles with project-based learning to achieve academic
excellence. We are dedicated to supporting the whole child by fostering intellectual,
emotional, and physical growth.
Vision Statement: At Mountain View Montessori our vision is to awaken within each
child their unique potential that will enable them to make a valuable contribution to
society.
2. Mountain View Montessori-MVM Utah:
Our website (mvmutah.org) and email domain (@mvmutah.org) reflect our unique identity as
a Utah public charter school - MVM Utah. This abbreviation supports consistency across
digital platforms while maintaining our full name, Mountain View Montessori. MVM Utah
functions as both a digital handle and a brand abbreviation. It's a clean, memorable shorthand
that fits well on uniforms, web addresses, and email domains while still tying back to the full
identity: Mountain View Montessori.
Discussion for changing color scheme and logo as described below:
Color Scheme: Mountain View Montessori's new color scheme draws inspiration from the
stunning landscapes of Southern Utah, featuring sandy oranges, desert tans, and deep green.
These natural tones reflect our school's shift toward outdoor learning, project-based
experiences, and a deeper connection with the environment around us.
Logo:
The only changes to the logo would be to replace the mountains to be the silhouette of Pine
Valley Mountain. The darker green is reflected here, but all fonts remain the same.
*The designer has been working on the image this week and has yet to send over a mockup.
Elizabeth voiced wanting to see the colors and thought it already was Pine Valley mountain. Brian suggested looking at the website currently and how the colors are being used so far.
Brian described replicating the mountain silhouette from school vantage point on logo and preferencing different color use on website, as it shows website refresh.
Courtney asks about colors of shirts, how this will change the uniform and expresses concern for families having to all buy new
shirts. Jess answers the current idea to use dark green with white logo and differing color options for outerwear; sweatshirts and jackets. Confirmation that all students wear one color shirt, everyone has to purchase new. Elizabeth explains the option discussed in last meeting about donating for families in need. Jess responds planning in the works to make it more financially feasible. Brian adds concern of the cost of shirts for families and the need to set up system for donating additional funds during purchase. Jamee suggests making it less mandatory for a certain time period to help the ease of change and clarifies that this decision is not up to the board. Elizabeth asks about the intention when to inform parents of all changes. Brian answers that people will be informed next week at the latest. Time frame will include a phase for having uniform in place with new color and logo. Office will supply extras for those not wearing uniform.
