TOWN COUNCIL MEETING MAY 1, 2025 MINUTES 7:00PM PRESENT:John Spenlove, Julie & Gerry Mash,Nick & Tina Mitchell, Sharon Pallesen, Sue Gestring, Steve Healey, Doug Nowell, Troy Campbell, Zac Kearney, Gene Gestring, Nikole Campbell ABSENT: Mayor Jared Campbell PRAYER: Zac Kearney PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE MINUTES: Doug motioned to accept minutes as read. Gene 2nd. All in favor. MAYOR UPDATES: Newman Brady is a potential buyer for Brett Sutteer's old house at 470 S State street. He is wondering if he does get the house if it would be possible to park his camp trailer on his property while he and his wife do some remodeling on the house. The council wondered if a building permit was necessary and what kind of remodel would be done. Zac motioned to put matter on next month's agenda since Newman wasn't even sure the house was his yet. Doug 2nd the motion. All were in favor. Troy said to tell Newman that the town will definitely work with him. WATER: Julie & Gerry Marsh are wanting to put a water meter on their property to the east of their house. Steve said the water line runs north and south so their best bet would be to connect to the water line by Jim Owens house. Julie asked Steve to come show them the best route and walk it through with them so they know exactly where to run the water line. Steve agreed. Julie has already paid her impact and meter fee. PLANNING COMMISSION: Nick & Christy Mitchell are wanting to add an accessory building to their yard at 35 N 100 W. The planning commission approved their plans at their last meeting. The council had some concerns about the building being 3ft from the Mitchells fence. It was brought up that the ordinance requires 12ft. Sue Gestring said she thought that Vic had called a special pc meeting to address this exact topic. The PC decided to allow the 12ft to 3ft because other cities around Joseph had made that change.The council decided to ok the bldg. Troy motioned to approve the shed. Gene 2nd it. All were in favor. Shane Obray wants to build a gazebo at HomeBase Resort at 280 W Arrowhead lane.It will be a 20x20 slab of cement with a bar b que pit as well as a gazebo overhead. The PC approved Shane's gazebo at their last meeting. Doug motioned to approve Shane's gazebo. Gene 2nd it. All were in favor MISC: Sarah Turpin was asking the council for a Foam machine for 4th of July. She feels it will bring in revenue for years to come. The council felt that renting one would be a better option. Christy Mitchell said she would get the town some info about a company out of Cedar that rents them. Sharon Paulsen also suggested calling South China in Richfield because the owner rents them as well. Zac motioned to table the idea until the next meeting to see what Sarah could find out. Gene 2nd the idea. All were in favor Troy motioned to adjourn the meeting. Gene 2nd it. All were in favor
