The Utah Board of Oil, Gas and Mining meets Wednesday, Jan. 24 at 9 a.m. at the Department of Natural Resources building at 1594 West North Temple in Salt Lake City. Introduction of new Oil, Gas and Mining Director Mick Thomas 2. Other 3. Next Month's Agenda and Division Calendar 4. Opportunity for Public Comment Board members will hear the following Matters at 10 a.m.: 1. Docket No. 2023-047 Cause No. 130-25 - In the Matter of the Amended Request for Agency Action of UINTA WAX OPERATING, LLC for an order modifying the Board's order entered in Cause No. 139-154 insofar as it pertains to the stand-up drilling unit established thereunder for long lateral horizontal wells comprised of Sections 17 and 20, Township 2 South, Range 1 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah to: (1) Reduce the north/south (heel/toe) drilling unit boundary setback from 330 feet to 100 feet; (2) Increase the number of wells authorized thereunder from 12 to 36; and (3) Reduce the inter-well setback between such wells from 330 feet to 100 feet. (This matter was continued from the December 6, 2023, Board Hearing). 2. Docket No. 2024-001 Cause No. E0450186 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of INTREPID POTASH, INC. and INTREPID POTASH-WENDOVER, LLC, Petitioners, to set aside the Division's approval of Utah Lithium, LLC's Amended Notice of Intention to Conduct Exploration for the Lithium King Exploration Project, Tooele County, Utah. 3. Docket No. 2024-002 Cause No. M0470089 - In the Matter of Notice of Agency Action wherein the Utah Division of Oil, Gas and Mining requests an order forfeiting the surety bonds surrounding the Temple Mountain Mine and directing the Division to perform reclamation. 4. Docket No. 2024-003 Cause No. 130-26 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of UINTA WAX OPERATING, LLC for an order partially modifying the Board's order entered in Cause No. 130-12 to re-orient drilling units from stand-up (vertical) to lay-down (horizontal) for Sections 13, 14, 23 and 24, Township 4 South, Range 5 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah. 5. Docket No. 2024-004 Cause No. 130-27 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of OVINTIV USA INC. for an order partially modifying and vacating the Board's orders in Cause Nos. 130-07 and 130-10 to instead create new lay-down (horizontal) drilling units for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch Formations comprised of Sections 16 through 18, and Sections 19 through 21, respectively, Township 4 South, Range 3 West, U.S.M., and Sections 13 and 14, and Sections 23 and 24, respectively, Township 4 South, Range 4 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah, with certain caveats relating to existing wells thereon. 6. Docket No. 2024-005 Cause No. 130-28 - In the Matter of the Request for Agency Action of OVINTIV USA INC. for an order: (1) Modifying and/or partially vacating (to the extent inconsistent with such modifications) the Board's orders entered in Cause Nos. 139-90, 139-103, 139-117, 139-123 and 139-134 to: (A) Re-Orient a drilling unit from stand-up (vertical) and instead establish lay-down (horizontal) drilling units for Sections 1, 2, 5 through 8, 11 and 12, Township 3 South, Range 3 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah; (B) Reduce the heel/toe drilling unit boundary setbacks for such drilling units from 330 feet to 100 feet; and (C) Eliminate any Upper Wasatch inter-well setbacks; and (2) Establishing overlapping drilling units for drilling long lateral drilling unit boundary wells for the production of oil, gas and hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch Formations comprised of Sections 1, 2, 11 and 12, Sections 3, 4, 9 and 10, and Sections 5 through 8, respectively, all in Township 3 South, Range 3 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah. 7. Docket No. 2023-027 Cause No. 132-19 - In the matter of the Request for Agency Action of OVINTIV USA INC. for an order pooling interests, including the compulsory pooling of the interests of certain non-consenting owners in the Moon 1-12 4-3-7-8-7H Well, in the drilling unit established for the production of oil, gas and associated hydrocarbons from the Lower Green River-Wasatch Formations comprised of all of Sections 7 and 8, Township 4 South, Range 3 West, U.S.M., Duchesne County, Utah. (Board action, pursuant to R641-110-400, on the Matter of the Petition for Rehearing for reconsideration of the Board's Findings of Fact, Conclusion of Law and Order entered on November 9, 2023).
