Please be advised that a vacancy exists for the St. George Mayor.  The St. George City Council will act to fill this vacancy at a meeting to be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2020 at 3:00 p.m., at the St. George City Office, 175 East 200 North, St. George, Utah. Anyone interested in being appointed to fill this vacancy shall submit an application along with a resume and a brief one (1) page written statement explaining why you are interested in serving as the  Mayor and any prior involvement in the City or community organizations or activities to Christina Fernandez, St. George City Recorder at the same address.  The deadline for submission is  Monday, January 11, 2020 at 5:00 p.m.

Qualifications to be considered to serve as the Mayor of the City of St. George are as follows:
-	Be a citizen of the United States
-	Be a registered voter in the City of St. George
-	Must be a resident of St. George or a resident of a recently annexed area of St. George for the previous twelve (12) months 
-	Not convicted of a felony*

*Utah Code §20A-2-101.5 states: A person convicted of a felony loses the right to hold office until (1) all felony convictions have been expunged, OR (2) ten years have passed since the most recent felony conviction AND the person has paid all court-ordered restitution and fines AND the person has completed probation, been granted parole, or completed the term of incarceration associated with the felony.
